The Champion/Hearts Women's MTB team is now in its second successful year.

After a successful season racing the Cane Creek series in 1999, Christine Putnam had the idea of forming the area's first women mountain bike team. The goal of the team was to get sponsorship for the team members to race the entire Cane Creek series, and to promote women's participation in mountain biking.

Champion© Apparel has been the title sponsor of the team since its inception.
